We have been printing photographs since 1975 and Giclée prints since 1998. We specialise in exhibition prints and prints for sale. We have experience printing successful exhibitions and award winning artworks. It’s that experience we bring to help advise clients in their next creative endeavour.

Many artists see our input and experience as an important part of their process. We collaborate on all aspects of exhibiting images, from initial image choice right through to framing options, edition sizes and choice of Galleries. We offer the option of private sessions for times clients would prefer not to have their work viewed whilst in progress or prior to finishing or exhibiting.

We work with both local and international Museums, Galleries and Artists to provide the best quality printing. Many of our clients shoot with the highest of high-end gear. Even so they often still want (and expect) us to pick their files apart and tweak the file to its ultimate potential. It takes a very practised eye, patience, skill, attention to detail, experience and communication to produce the best prints.

High res offers a full service experience, from initial discussions about what’s possible, to print testing, printing, advice on framing and working with framers to achieve your ultimate goal.

We combine our photography and printing expertise to the production of high quality wallpapers. Whether it be enlarging and optimising files supplied to us or having us create super high resolution images of artworks, we can prepare, print and install a wide variety of wallcovering materials - temporary, permanent, self adhesive or paste on. This artwork for the NGA had a resolution of 10,000 megapixels, showing detail down to the finest brushstroke at a printed size of 30 metres x 5.2 metres.

High Res has been at the forefront of the transformation of lightbox design in recent years.
Ultra thin light sources that can be dimmed from your phone down to balance into any environment, crafted into beautiful frames or structures. Sizes up to 1600 x 3000mm.
We produce sharp, rich transparencies and collaborate with framers and fabricators to achieve our clients creative concepts. We also print on specialised ultra clear film to produce digital negatives and positives or as a replacement for Duraclear requirements.

Send your files using our Hightail upload link, along with a brief description of what you need.
Our preferred file type is TIFF or PSD, uncompressed, 16bit if available, Adobe RGB colourspace.

We are strictly appointment only, to ensure every job gets the attention it needs.

For those with print ready files - simply let us know your turnaround time, desired print size, border size and paper, and let us take care of the rest. We will let you know when your prints are ready for collection.
For the more involved jobs - after organising a consultation, you can visit the studio and work one on one with our talented printers. If you have requested test prints on arrival, we will have them ready for you to view on our print viewing wall. Then, we can sit and make edits together to reach your desired look. We will guide you through our paper selection, give advice about borders, framing and whatever other questions you may have. Nothing is too much trouble at High Res.

Once you are happy with your test prints, you can go home feeling safe in the knowledge that your print is in the best hands. We will print your image on the desired paper stock, always keeping an eye out for any imperfections in the paper or ink.
Once we have a perfect print we will carefully roll it with either glassine tissue or mylar, to await collection or shipping.
The Details

Our usual turnaround for straightforward print jobs is 3-5 days, but is subject to change during busy periods.
We are always willing to try and accomodate rush jobs, but may charge extra fees in that case.
If you have a large show coming up, it is best to contact us as early as possible so we may book you into the calendar.

High Res stocks more paper than any other lab in Australia. We stock all well known brands such as Hahnemühle, Ilford, Canson, Epson & Moab, + many more.
